Minocqua Area Fishing Report - 11/17/25

Cold enough last week to lock up the pond behind the shop for a day.  Temps all the way into the 50° mark ended that.  Surface temperature readings on lakes I visited read 37-45°.  A relatively mild week ahead (lows 20’s-highs in low 40’s) won’t cool temps very quickly.  It’s the temps during Thanksgiving week that we will see lakes start to lock up.

Not much to report on the Musky front.  Lots of signs of Cisco staging.  Not many anglers out and about and even fewer reports of fish being caught.  Season open until the end of December, but anglers cannot use ice as a base to fish from.

A very few Walleye anglers out on days the wind has allowed for decent deep water boat control.  Chubs, suckers and even crawlers in 30-40’ depths.  Lots of looking for pods of fish to target.

Most outdoors people have sights set on the coming Gun deer season.  Outlook is good as season starts early this year, numbers are up and still sign of rutting going on.  New moon period coming on November 20th.  The opener’s weather not too cold.  Some ground snow would be nice though!

Time to sign up for the 2025 Big Buck Contest (by 11/21, close of business day).  No harvest is necessary to have a chance to win a raffle prize, 1 in 5 participants will win.
